Drs. H. Sutedjo was officially appointed as the definitive Regent of Kulon Progo for the 2017 – 2022 remaining term of office. The inauguration was held at the Kepatihan Ward Yogyakarta on Thursday, November 7, 2019. The inauguration of the former Vice Regent of Kulon Progo was led by the Governor of Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.
Sutedjo was replacing Dr. Hasto Wardoyo, SP. OG. (K) who was appointed by the President to become the Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) in July of 2019. The Governor of Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X advised the newly appointed Regent of Kulon Progo to continue the program which has been initiated previously. One of the programs is Kulon Progo’s vision to become a Healthy Kulon Progo.
“With the Healthy Kulon Progo vision, the Regent of Kulon Progo must immediately conduct an evaluation, do a current road map on how Healthy Kulon Progo can be achieved at the end of his term,” said Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. The Governor of Special Region of Yogyakarta also added that a Regent, must not only operate behind the desk but must also go to the field, check and re-check and can act as a leader who works hard.
While Sutedjo claimed to be ready to assume the position of Regent of Kulon Progo for the 2017 – 2022 remaining term of office. Sutedjo promised to fight corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN). “I am ready to avoid despicable acts and be ready with accountability and transparency in carrying out my duties,” he said. A number of officials were present in the inauguration of the newly appointed Regent of Kulon Progo, including the Head of BKKBN Hasto Wardoyo, the Regent of Sleman Drs. H. Sri Purnomo, M.S.I., Regent of Bantul Drs. H. Suharsono, Regent of Gunungkidul Hj. Badingah, S. Sos, and officials from the government of Special Region of Yogyakarta.
